Ancient Swamp Kauri on a Painted Steel Stand

Pikorua is Maori for twist. Traditionally a pikorua is displayed as a pounamu (NZ greenstone/ jade) or bone pendant. The design can represent many things to different people but commonly symbolises a bond between people, families or cultures, eternity and growth.

This carving is made from Ancient Swamp Kauri sourced from Northland, New Zealand. This wood has been carbon dated to be 30,000 - 40,000 years old, giving the carving it’s beautiful colour.

All carvings shown on this site are for sale. If you see something you like, please contact me for a price. Commission work is also available if you have a design in mind.
